The CAPS (Center for Psychological Services) satellite clinic, under the direction of Dr. Stefanie Hartman and Dr. Yitzchok Schechter, which opened last March with two days of counseling service per week at YSV Boys, is being expanded to four days. Mrs. Chaya Rubin, LMSW, who began counseling students at YSV Boys last year, will be joined by Mr. Ari Krasnow, LMSW, a graduate of the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College, adding an additional two days of service per week to our school.
The satellite location at YSV is supported by the medical and professional staff at CAPs. Students and parents will have access to the resources the clinic can provide. Having counseling sessions in school allows for more convenient scheduling, zero transportation time, and a student-comfortable setting. While Mr. Krasnow will be able to counsel students in any grade, his focus will be on boys in fifth through eighth grades.
Parents interested in registering a child for counseling through this program, or in getting more information, should call Rabbi Granick at extension 120. Students will be registered on a first come, first serve basis.
